Incorporating consensual fear or suspense to amp adrenaline. This might cross with other areas like knife play or threatening roleplay. For instance, the dominant might threaten to do something (in a controlled way: “Keep quiet or someone will hear us” or “I wonder what this knife would feel like on your skin?” while just using the back of it safely). The idea is the sub feels a thrill of fear but deep down knows they’re safe because they trust the dom. Even simply blindfolding and saying ominously “I’m going to do something now” can cause a fear thrill. Aftercare is crucial, because even play-fear can raise real emotions.
