Reassurance and affection

Even if the scene was rough or roleplay, after it’s done, drop roles and affirm your real relationship: e.g., give lots of kisses, say loving things like “I adore you,” “You were amazing,” or simply cuddle quietly to show you’re there. If any degrading or harsh words were used in play, be sure to counterbalance them now with positive words (“You know I didn’t mean those names – you’re my love and you did so well”). This helps both parties come back to normal emotionally.
